From small beginnings come great things
Week 6 Term 2 Thursday 6th June 2019 School Roll: 88
SUPPORT STAFF UNION MEETING
All our Support Staff will be attending a Paid Union Meeting over the next couple of weeks. This day will not affect the School or the students.
It is really good to see that the attendance levels at school are on an increase. We appreciate you sending your children to school everyday. We have adapted our learning topics for a high interest level and have seen the benefits of these. If your child is absent please leave a message on the school phone or text 027 4535 111. If your child is off for 3 or more days please provide a medical Certificate for their absence. We appreciate the communication.
WACKY WIG DAY
On Wednesday 19 June 2019 we are dressing up and wearing our Wacky Wigs to support Child Cancer research. We are asking the children for a gold coin donation so that we can send it on to support the young children that suffer from this debilitating disease.
EDUCATION REVIEW OFFICE
We will be having the ERO team in to visit the teaching staff on Wednesday and Thursday 12 and 13 of June. They will be in to speak to the management, staff and visit classrooms. We look forward to their time with us. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the office.
SAMOAN LANGUAGE CLASSES
At Natone Park School Whaea Toa has offered Samoan Language Classes for those of us that wish to learn. These are open to parents and families of Natone Park School and run from 6-7pm on Thursday evenings. Come along and see for yourself. There will be no class tonight but will re commence next Thursday 13th June.
TRANSMISSION GULLY ROADWORKS
With the formation of the new roads being introduced to our community we are teaching our children, and reminding them, about the importance of safety while travelling to and from school. There will be trucks and road works holding up traffic in the near future and we encourage our children to cross the road safely by using the pedestrian crossing.
We would like to remind you that the children are provided with cooked lunches every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Whaea Millie has gratefully accepted the position of head chef to help support us during the term. Thankyou to Whaea Millie who came in on her day off to cook an extra lunch for our Tamariki today.
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
We will be holding our midyear Parent Teacher Interviews on Wednesday 29 June 2019 from 2pm to 6.30pm. Please make an appointment to have a discussion about your child’s learning. This is a good time to catch up with the teachers and talk about the progress and have a one to one 10 minutes interview.
Spaces are filling fast.
As we are supporters of safety around our busy area I would like to remind you that if your child rides their bike to school that they need to wear their helmet. It is the law and as a school we must support and teach children safety first. With all the cars that we have visited and driving around our car parks I would hate to see an incident occur before our eyes.
KO WAI AU
It is a pleasure to welcome back the team from Ko Wai Au? The students are becoming more and more familar about the ways that we cope when under pressure, confronting conflicts and managing our behaviours.
The students have been sharing their fitness skills with Whaea Linda. We appreciate the information that she offers the children and explains why and what is more beneficial for their growing bodies.
