Today is the final day of our swimming programme. If you have not paid the full amount of the swimming programme can you please make payment at the office asap. There are only a couple of whanau.
A big thank you to all the parents for allowing your children to be apart of such an important learning event which is a requirement for the Ministry of Education. All the children have learnt so much and enjoyed it immensely. We would also like to acknowledge ‘Given for You’ Charity and Samuel Marsden School for the swim kits that each individual child at Natone Park School. We will be sending photos and a card to show our huge appreciation.
FREE EYESIGHT CHECKS
We have attached information for you to read if you think that your child should have their eyesight checked. This service is completely free. Please read the information and make contact directly with the eye technicians. Contact details are on the forms.
JUNIOR SPORTS – MINIBALL (1st half of term 2)
This will be starting in Term 2. The cost for each child is $15 per person. We will register the team. It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue at Te Rauparaha Arena. All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of week one so we can register our interest.

SENIOR SPORTS – BASKETBALL
This will be starting in Term 2. The cost for each child is $15 per person. We will register the team. It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue which is Rangikura School. All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of next week so we can register our interest.
SPORTS – NETBALL
This will be starting in Term 2. The cost for each child is $5 per person. We will register the team. It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue which is Ngati Toa Domain. All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of this week so we can register our interest. The first game is on Saturday 4th May.
Thank you to all the parents that sent their child’s permission forms back. A couple of children were away on that day and the Nurses will be in contact.
A friendly reminder that our Free school lunch days have changed and they are now on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.These days will carry over until further notice .
BUILDERS IN SCHOOL
We are now having regular visitors to our school regarding the replacement of the old windows for new aluminium ones. As the holidays are next week the work they will complete their contract by the beginning of Term 2
We are in desperate need of plastic shopping bags. If you have any spare plastic bags at home can you please send them to school with your child. We have run out and need these to bag up kai for children to take home.
Our School Nurse Bronwyn visits our school every Tuesday morning, We have noticed how difficult it has become to make appointments at the doctor’s surgeries. If you need the nurse to see your child please contact Miro in the office and she will write your child’s name down..
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
The last day of school for the term is next friday 12th of April. School will be finish at the normal time 2.45pm.
During the holidays it would be greatly appreciated if whanau could watch out for our property as this is the time when all forms of vandalism happens. If you notice anything suspicious then please ring the police right away.
It has been requested by some whanau to let you know that kutu are rampant again. If you have noticed your child may have come home with Head Lice and are needing help with treatment then please contact the office. As we have a small supply treatment we can provide a comb and a booklet, and also incase some parents are not aware that doctors can now prescribe free Nit shampoo as well. Hopefully we can get on top of this before it gets too out of hand.
Senior Netball Coach
As of today we still do not have a Senior Netball coach. If any parents/ Caregivers, relatives have the time and passion to coach our seniors then that would be greatly appreciated. If it is better to share the position let me know and we can possibly find someone else.
Basketball trainings will be Monday and Friday afternoons from 3 – 4pm. So that means Basketball training will be tomorrow. Games are played on a Wednesday night, times to be confirm closer to the day. Once again it will be responsibility of the parents to transport your child.
Mini Gala will be held on Friday 24 May at lunch time. The proceeds of this will go to school trips in Term 2.
Matariki will be celebrated in Week 5, 27-31 May. We are looking to have an afternoon celebrated pending on weather.
This will be held on 31st May to 3rd June. School will be closed Monday 3rd June..
Cultural Awareness Days Term 2
We will be having Cultural Days every Friday during Terms 2 and 3 to prepare for a concert in Term 4. The children are looking forward to learning some dances and songs.
All school assemblies will now be held on Monday afternoons to work in with our Cultural Awareness Days.
If you know of any new enrolments wishing to start in Term 2 ask them to make contact with the office to book some visit days.
