There are a number to activities and opportunities about to happen at Natone Park School.

SWIMMING

We are currently in the middle of our swimming programme.  If you have not paid the full amount of the swimming programme can you please deposit $15 per person into our school account.  We appreciate your time and efforts.

FREE EYESIGHT CHECKS

We have attached information for you to read if you think that your child should have their eyesight checked.  Please read the information attached and make contact directly with the eye technicians.  Contact details are on the forms.

JUNIOR SPORTS – MINIBALL (1st half of term)

This will be starting in Term 2.  The cost for each child is $15 per person.  We will register the team.  It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue which is Te Rauparaha Arena.  All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of next week so we can register our interest.

This will be starting in Term 2.  The cost for each child is $15 per person.  We will register the team.  It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue which is Te Rauparaha Arena.  All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of next week so we can register our interest.

SENIOR SPORTS – BASKETBALL

This will be starting in Term 2.  The cost for each child is $15 per person.  We will register the team.  It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue which is Rangikura School.  All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of next week so we can register our interest.

The 1st of 3 grading games start on Wednesday 8th May and will carry on until the middle of Term 3.

Practices will be Monday and Friday afternoons from 3pm – 4pm with Matua Meka.

SPORTS – NETBALL

This will be starting in Term 2.  The cost for each child is $5 per person.  We will register the team.  It is the whanau responsibility to transport their child/ren to and from the venue which is Ngati Toa Domain.  All monies should be handed to the school office before the end of next week so we can register our interest. Fisrt game is on Saturday 4th May.

IMMUNISATIONS

There are still parents that haven’t sent permission forms.  Please have this returned by tomorrow as immunisations are Friday.

BUILDERS IN SCHOOL

The Builders are commencing the Window Replacements Today, they will start in Tipimana first then work their way around. Now that winter is coming these new windows will help a great deal with keeping the cold air out.

SCHOOL NURSE

Our School Nurse Bronwyn visits our school every Tuesday morning, If you need the nurse to see your child please contact Miro in the office and she will write your child’s name down to be seen.

FREE EYE TESTS FOR ADULTS

Onesight and The Salvation Army are offering a free eye test and, where needed, prescription glasses to those in need in our communities. Bookings available from: 8.30am – 3.30pm Thursday 11 April 2019. Clinic is held at: Salvation Army Porirua Community Ministries, 89 Warspite Ave, Porirua. Spaces are limited so bookings are essential. To Book Call Porirua CM on 04 2356266.

ABSENCES

It has come to our attention that our absence rate is climbing and therefore we have been directed to send out letters to whanau regarding percentages of attendance.  We are part of the RAAYs process and this is the follow up procedure for students who have a low percentage of attendance at school. I have sent out notices to families and await your attention as contact details have not been updated.  If you need to know more or to discuss this further please contact me at the office

PLASTIC BAGS

If you have any spare plastic bags at home can you please send them to school with your child. We have run out and need these to bag up kai for kids to take home.

DUFFY BOOKS ASSEMBLY

Today the children were excited to have Chris Lam-Sam from Duffy Assemblies, they all had such an awesome time watching Chris’s presentation. They are looking forward to Chris returning again in the future.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCHOOL LUNCHES

Reminder that our Free school lunch days have changes and they  are now on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays

LOST PROPERTY

We seem to have collected  a lot of lost property, If you child is missing any clothing please come and have a look through. All clothing left over at the end of the term will be going to the Koha Shed.

STREAM CLEANUP

As you may remember over the last couple of years Ngake have been involved with our local Stream Cleanup. It was their 1st day back to it this year and as you can see in the photo’s they all worked very hard. Ka Pai Ngake.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

The last day of school for the term is next friday 12th of April. School will be finishe at the normal time 2.45pm.

During the holidays it would be greatly appreciated if our whanau could watch out for our school as this is the time when all Vandalism happens. If you notice anything suspicious then please ring the police right away.

SURPRISE VISIT FROM WHAEA LYN

The children were so happy to see Whaea Lyn, she got given big hugs all around. Please come visit us again.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SWIMMING GEAR

Every child at Natone Park School were given a swimming kit containing Togs, goggles, Towel and a bag to put these in. The kits will be kept at school until the swimming lessons are over. Thankyou to the staff who have taken photos of our children in their new gears.
