Week 2 Term 1 ursday 8th February 2019 School Roll: 86
Week 2 attendance
Our roll is currently sitting at 86 with the withdrawal of students to college, children who have moved and families that have not yet returned to school. We would like to thank whanau and caregivers for ensuring that your children are at school learning. We would now like to ask you to encourage our students to make sure that they attend on a regular basis.
Some students have still not purchased their books. All classes have commenced their book work. Please collect a stationery list from the office. If you are finding it difficult could you at least buy a writing and maths book.
Children have been learning about The Treaty of Waitangi and Waitangi Day. Some students have been going home and initiating conversation around their opinions and sharing their learning. Please take time to listen and talk.
Our kaupapa is about ‘Our Journey’ and classes have started investigating things that they have done, that their ancestors have done and similarities and differences. If you have time come and see what your child’s class is doing.
Mini Gala will be held during lunch break on Friday 22 February. Start time will be 12 noon. If you have goods to donate please send them along to school. All donations are gratefully accepted to help towards swimming costs.

Do you know where your children are after hours? We have had a number of incidences of vandalism. Please talk to your children about care and safety when they are away from home. If they use our school grounds please do so with respect and encourage their friends to look after our school. Our vandalism funds were used up in the first four days of the year. Please help us out.

All cyclists will require a helmet with their own bike, We will construct a cycle track behind Waitangirua Mall. The scooters and other small wheels will be within the fenced boundary of the school.
