From small beginnings come great things

        Week 6 Term 4                            Thursday 23 November 2018                                School Roll: 108

Our newest pupils have been welcomed to Natone Park School. Deelia and Caroleen are both in the New Entrant class and have settled in well with the other students across the school.

Yesterday Sio Muaiava and Mohamad Shagouri went to Whitireia Polytech to present their findings of the Te Awa Iti stream clean up. They were competing with students from various schools to vie for 2 free seats to travel to Kapiti Island for a conservation visit. We would like to congratulate both young men for their efforts as it was announced last night that they won the competition and will be travelling to Kapiti in December. Well done. Thanks also goes out to Whaea Miro, Tamure Phillips, Te Rito Aperahama, Benny and Emosi Matini who went as well & supported them in their quest.

This year Natone Park School is hosting the Xmas Fun Day celebrations. We will be having visitors from Corinna and Tairangi Schools. It will be an afternoon filled with fun activities for the children to mix and mingle and sing Christmas songs together. If you are available between 1-3pm on that afternoon we would love your help to supervise, run an activity or even just to mingle with the other parents.

The staff and students of Natone Park School would like to thank Whaea Linda Vaaua Sua for her support and leading this initiative for our school community. The feedback from our visitors has been very positive where the participants have had good fun and laughs as well as having the ability to exercise in a low impact routine with high results. 2 More Mondays to go, 6pm Sharp. Lets do this Whanau………

Our sausage sizzle was a great success. We will hold another one as the students have requested this for next friday. We will be selling a sausage sizzle and a drink for $3.50. Thanks for your support.

Our next Whanau Engagement Hui will be held on Wednesday 28 November at 5.30pm in the Wharehui. Come along and hear what has been going on, our results from the Parent Survey and the plans for 2019.

On Monday and Tuesday December 3 and 4 we will be welcoming back the DMIC team who will be retesting the students and staff of Natone Park School to compare the progress of learning. We are excited to see the results.

Thanks goes out to all the parents and whanau who have come into school to see and learn where their child is at with their literacy learning. We appreciate the contact and conversations which we hold in high regard. The relationship building has also been a bonus as we learn about what your child’s successes are. Whaea Suman has been delighted with the feedback and the energy from the students as they learn.

Ngake Y7 and Y8 students have been to Ki o rahi at Onepoto Park today to represent Natone Park School. They played well with good sportsmanship displayed all day. This has been a good way for our students to get the school name our with their representation at events like this

Thank you to all the whanau who supported us during the Teacher Strike.

Please put Saturday December 8 in your diary. If you are free we will be moving a pile of dirt surrounding the pohutukawa tree and uplifting some ashphalt (if you can drive a little digger that would be a bonus). Bring you gumboots, shovels, muscles and smiling faces. We will commence work at 9am. The more the merrier. So please dont forget SATURDAY 8TH DECEMBER 9AM……..

Natone Park School ends on December 12 with a ceremony to celebrate childrens’ achievements. We welcome those that wish to support us on that day.

Natone Park School has been part of this programme. Over the past years, they have been delighted to have our students take part in our education programmes. The experiences we have provided and the gear to support these would not have been possible without the generous support they receive from many of their funders. They need our help. So we are going to return the gesture and do a small fundraiser for them by having a sausage sizzle in the new year.

Here are some energize nuggets for Whanau to use at home provided from our Team Energize – Energizer | Heart Foundation.
