Ko te pipi te tuatahi, Ko te kaunuku to tuarua
From small beginnings come great things
Ko te Rapare 6 o Mahuru 2018 Thursday 6 September 2018 School Roll: 108
Please Please Please We need you to pay for your child/rens swimming lessons which begin in two weeks. The monies which we are asking you to pay do not cover all the costs. All children who have previously taken part in swimming have thoroughly enjoyed the programme. It would be such a pity if we couldn’t go. We have had this panui out for the last 7 weeks.
The cost for 2 wks swimming (and transportation) is: (This includes siblings)
$18 for one child
$24 for two children
$30 for three or more children
Hot Chocolates will be on sale this friday
The price will be $2 per hot chocolate.
We have sold the dryer and we still have a fridge and a washing machine in good working order. If you are interested please ask at the office.
Both soccer teams have been doing really well. The juniors played on Monday and won 5-nil. The seniors played on Tuesday and drew again for the 3rd week. I enjoyed watching our future All Whites play with vim and vigour.
Please see the attached notice for information on the up and coming Whanau Hui on Wednesday 19 September at 5.30pm. It will be great to see you there and give your opinion.
Maori Language Week
As part of Natone Park School celebrating Maori Language Week we are inviting a selected few students to participate in the march to Parliament and join in on the festivities. Look out for a permission slip from your child/ren.
We had a visitor in school today to observe each class working on Maths. We have some magnificent mathematicians in our midst. Maths has changed immensely over the years. Our children are given the opportunity to solve problems in group situations and then present their findings in class.
We will be having an assembly to celebrate and commend our students that we have noticed have done well over the last couple of weeks. If you are free we will start at 2.15pm and finish altogether at the end of the day. Please feel welcome to come along and join in on the fun.
Tomorrow at 8am we will be starting our school photos. Unfortunately we cannot book up any sessions. We will be closing all payments at 8.30am. Please ensure that you get in on time. The order of the day will be family photos, class photos and then sports photos.
Term Dates 28 September 2018 2.45pm
We have 3 more weeks of school left. Please make sure that you come in and check the lost property. We have a lot of children who will not claim their clothing. It would help if you named your child/rens clothing.
Our school gate is usually open at 8am. We have noticed with the daylight hours that children are arriving earlier and earlier each day. It is good to see them occupy themselves for the longer period until the bell goes.
If you child has not yet enrolled in a college you need to ring the school that you wish your child to attend in 2019 and make an appointment and ask for an application form.
Attached to our newsletter today we have a notice which has been provided by the Health Foundation. Please read it with your whanau.
If you would like some vegetables or bread you are welcome to come to the staff room on Mondays and help yourself. The kai that we have is left over from the food we use to cook the students lunches during the week. Please don’t be shy. You are doing us a favour by helping to get it to our families.
Ko Wai Au
The Ko Wai Au programme has been changed from a Thursday afternoon to a Wednesday afternoon which shouldn’t affect our children’s timetables at all.
