Whanau Hui – last night

Wow! What a fantastic night of sharing ideas, laughter, talking about the future for our kura and briefing each other on our thoughts.  There was a really positive mood last night. We talked about what we want for Natone Park School and wrote down our ideas. If you would like to visit the school office & make your own contribution please feel free to come into the foyer and place your notes on the boards.  We appreciate your ideas as this is what makes our school more successful in moving forward.

Swimming

We have started with a bang.  All children are enjoying participating in the swimming lessons provided by the Dash Instructors.  We keep to a very tight schedule so that not one group misses out on their session. We have had some very good feedback from the students and they have also offered some ideas for the next day.  We have four lessons left as we only swim from Monday to Thursday. There are still some outstanding payments. Please see below for fees:

$18 for one child

  $24 for two children

$30 for three or more children

Soccer

Both teams have their normal games on Monday and Tuesday.  Playoffs will be announced the day after their game. We will release their game times as soon as they come in.  Thank you for being patient.

Mini Ball

Next term Mini Ball will be organised for the junior students.  Watch this space.

Lollies, fizzy drinks, big bags of chips, bubble gum

It is mainly the senior students and we are trying our best to police this.  Lots of our children do not have good dental care and we need to help in every way possible.  Please refrain from providing your children with these as we do not have them at school. We appreciate your support.

DMIC Maths

We have visitors in our kura today to observe our Maths programmes.  We welcome Bronwyn Gibbs who works the crew and we know the children enjoy sharing their knowledge during this time.  All classes will be visited.

Reading Recovery

Reading Recovery has been moving along really well and Whaea Fiona is happy with the 4 children who are currently involved.

End of Term

A correction to last week’s newsletter.  We will be finishing school next Friday 28 September at 2.45pm.

Summer is on its way

As the sun starts to bring a hint of summer we encourage you to provide a sunhat for your children.  It gets quite hot on our playground and the children run for shelter as the heat rises. A drink bottle for water would be good too.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori Hikoi

Feedback has been provided by parents that they were pleased to hear that our children participated in the Hikoi last week.  This was our way of providing an experience for our students so that they can see how others celebrate and how easy it is for us to be part of it.  Tau kē ngā tamāriki o te kura o Natone.

Do you have a skill that you could share with our kura?

Next term we are going to focus on The Arts both visual and performance.  Do you have a skill that you could share with our tamariki. Come in and see your child’s teacher. We appreciate whanau involvement.

Hot Chocolates

We are having our last Hot Chocolate day tomorrow, $2.  Thank you for supporting our venture.

Updating Parent details

Please parents if you have changed your phone numbers or adresses please let Whaea Miro in the office know asap, we need these incase of emergencies.
