Ko te Ramere 29 o Pipiri 2018                                   Friday 29 June 2018 School Roll: 108

Thank you

A big mihi goes out to all our whanau for supporting our teachers on Wednesday while they attended their stop work meeting.

Tu Kaha

On Monday and Tuesday the Ngake students participated in a self esteem course run by Tu Kaha.  Some of you might have seen our car park filled with the Tu Kaha truck which is the mobile classroom.  The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and the interaction with the staff. Natone Park School is a pilot school to take part in the Auckland based programme.  Matua Tom and Whaea Jess wish to acknowledge the students for their forward thinking, positive attitudes and the way that they conducted themselves during the sessions.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Please ensure you have booked a time to see your teacher for a 10 minute display of work covered by your child.  You will also be handed the mid year report. We hope to have a high percentage of parents attending. Please help make this possible.

Feedback from the Commissioner

Te Tiwha Puketapu, our Commissioner, would like me to communicate his appreciation to the school students, staff and community for all the positive efforts this term.  Both him and Lisa Rangiaho (MOE) are delighted with the programmes on offer, the wairua amongst the school and the camaraderie learning alongside each other.

WiFi upgrade

Intel were in school on Monday to upgrade our school WiFi systems.  We are hoping this makes the internet run more smoothly without any interruptions.

Chromebooks

If you are interested in purchasing a chromebook for your senior student to use during class/school please see Whaea Miro at the office to make arrangements.

End of Term arrangements

School will finish for Term 2 on Friday July 6 at 3pm.  Please make sure you pick up your child/ren on time.

Some exciting activities to look forward to in Term 3

In Week 1 we will welcome the Healthy Heroes in to school for a 9 week programme with the whole school.  An open evening with nibbles will be held for parents regarding the Healthy Heroes programme and Paula Williams on August 22 at 5.30pm. The Dental Van will also be here on July 25-27 so please make sure that you keep your appointments as they are hard to re-issue with the high demand. August 2 see the Wellington Regional Council visiting the senior students to help clean up the local stream.  A handful of students from Natone Park School will be working with the PCC to beautiful and improve some areas of interest for children in the Waitangirua area. A whanau hui is being arranged for September 19 to discuss progress at school thus far. The swimming programme will commence in Week 9 and finish in Week 10 with a School Trip to Cannons Creek Pool. What a nice way to end the Term. We hope there will be more offers on hand for our children to benefit from during this time.
