JACK KIRIFI and the development of our school mural
Every week we watch as the work progresses. Absolutely beautiful. Next steps, the children’s ideas will be ‘woven’ into that whaariki. Mau tonu mai ōu whatu, keep your eyes on this space!

NGĀ MAHI HĀKINAKINA A-RAUMATI – Athletics at Masteron
The Ki-o-Rahi tournament on 29 November was dynamic. The day began rather cloudy but ended up an absolute stunner! Check out the school Facebook Page for photos. Three of our seniors also represented us at the Athletics Regionals in Masterton in 30 degree heat and they gave it their best. It is so good for our children to compete with other schools, it enables them to observe others, pick up on new ideas, make new friends, and simply to enjoy the day together. It is also a time for them to see for themselves the quality of participating athletes out there and what they can aspire to. Ka mau te wehi koutou katoa1
SNORKEL PROGRAM FOR TUAKANA
The senior will be heading out on Monday now and Whaea Ria will keep in touch with you all regarding transport.
END OF YEAR DINNER FOR OUR SIX NGAKE STUDENTS
We celebrate with our seniors tonight as their time with us at Natone Park School draws to a close. Make sure you come to our Rā Whakamana on Wednesday 13 December 2018, 11.00am and join with us in wishing them all the best for their senior years at College.
SCHOOL VAN
Whaea Lyn is listing the school van on Trade Me. If you know of anyone who is interested in buying a tidy little van, then give Whaea Lyn a ring, or check it out on Trade Me. Money raised from the sale of the van will go back into the school putea to provide funds for our children’s programs.
THE SCHOOL GATES
Gates on the front entrance and the mall entrance will be locked over the holiday period. Please ring 111 and report any suspicious behaviour to the Police. Help us to look after our community asset.
MEASINA FESTIVAL – Children and staff had enjoyed a lovely day out. He rā tino ataahua.
Le Moana present
the 2017 Measina Festival at Pataka Art Museum, Porirua. Measina has established a platform for Pasifika practitioners to showcase their talents and present their craft. Tupe Lualua, Artistic Director for Measina Festival says ‘Audiences will enjoy a showcase of contemporary, multi-disciplined art forms and discover stories told in fresh and exciting ways”. The Samoan meaning for Measina is ‘cultural treasure’ and the Measina Festival is just that.
This year’s festival line-up includes a debut performance devised by Tupe Lualua based on much loved children’s book by Patricia Grace and illustrated by Robin Kahukiwa, Watercress Tuna and the Children of Champion Street. About 70 students from Cannon’s Creek school delivered a wonderful performance. The large scale tuna-puppet in the production was beautiful. It was created by Jim and Bridgette Murphy from Rangiwahia Environmental Arts Centre. Le ART were the Manu Tioriori who narrated the story through beautiful harmonies and clarity of song.
