It was about nine pm when we left to go to Ruatoria. I couldn’t sleep through the trip because I was trying to stay up with my parents just in-case something happened. I looked out the window although it was pitch black there was a slight beam of light so I looked up to stare at the stars. I turned to see my brother and sister sleeping. I dragged the blanket over them. My parents could see I was still awake but they said nothing. After four or five hours in the car we stopped to go stay at my uncle’s for the nigh. It was one o’clock when we got in but everybody was sleeping so we tried to be quiet. After five minutes I was out like a light. The night passed and it was morning time. “Budz Budz,” I could hear my mum saying my name so I stared up at my mum and face-planted the bed again. I was so tired but I got up anyways.
I saw my cousins looking at me so then I went to give them a big hug. I hadn’t seen them since New Year. It was 10:00am when we left to go to Ruatoria. We stopped at a town, I forgot the name, and we went to go get something to eat and have a toilet break. I watched the waves as they crashed on to the beach. Three hours passed and we were outside Gisborne. We met our Aunties and our Koro. Yeah we were hugging for like 30 minutes we just missed each other so much. We needed to go to the wharepaku so we took a ten minute walk to the toilets. My Auntie took us.We went to go have a kai at Carl’s Jnr. (Don’t eat from there i nearly spewed!) The drinks were nice but we ended up getting Pizza Hutt for the little ones. We shot off to the marae. We sat up for my Auntie Mata. It looked so awesome (only because I helped. ) The next day everyone arrived we had so much fun i re-met my cuzzies I hadn’t seen since I was a little kid. I went back to Hastings and dropped off my Uncle and we went straight home. That was such a cool time it was #Goals, we had so many cool vibes. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.
